architectural beauty: the hobbit house

Thursday, September 24th, 2009 | 9 Comments

I stumbled upon this home today and it was build by one man and his father (oh and a few passerbys who wanted to help). Ended up costing them roughly £60/sqm excluding labour which is ridiculously cheap for a new home. The framed oak adds such a beautiful touch and I like how you could technically grow flowers on your roof! It may look small on the outside but its actually quite big inside…

You can read much more about it at this website, which has a really in-dept look at the house.

That house is beautiful! I love the photos of them building it, it really shows you how much work they put into it. PS make more posts like this!

  2. Oh I just love this – it’s like something from a story book. I almost expect to find a family of bunnies living here.

  8. This is very deceptive on the outside. Looks incredibly smaller. It is like a fairy tale home. Agree with @Cindy Warner. We have nothing like this that I am aware of in the United States. Amazingly charming.
